Letter to Me

Dear Me,

Welcome to 2012!  You have recently celebrated one amazing year married and your 30th birthday (no ER visit this year!).  It wasn’t as scary as you had imagined, in fact, your 30s are turning out to be the best decade yet.  Just think about how far you’re come.

2011 rocked.  Everything you dreamed you seemed to achieve.  Let’s take these one at a time.

  • You got your MSLIS!  Two years flew by, finding you a degree and an amazing job that is better than you ever imagined.  You enjoy going to work each day and are making a difference.  You are slowly becoming known in the library world as a competent, creative and energetic.
  • Balance.  You have really improved this year.  You can say no and not feel bad.  You keep a calendar, so as not to over-book and not miss events.  You eat healthy most of the time and don’t beat yourself up over a handful of chips or a cupcake at a party.
  • You ran a half marathon!  And it was amazing.  Your speed increased as you stuck with your training.  Your 12 races in 2010 went well and you still enjoy running.  You also spin, lift weights and do yoga and pilates, depending on what you feel like.
  • You definitely got baby-body ready.  The exercise and healthy eating meant fat loss, muscle gain and back into those size 10 DKNY jeans you missed.

Most importantly, you were truly happy.  You took fun trips with Aaron, had great times with family and friends, read a ton as always and really got to work on your genealogy, focusing on your German and Polish ancestors.

I am here on the brink of 2012, knowing it will be wonderful due to your hard work and dedication in 2011.  Look forward to seeing you soon.
